25th Maharashtra Pakshinitra Sammelan, Mumbai first press conference held and successful.

About the Event Logo: Being the first time in Mumbai, Shri Bibhas Amonkar was keen on making a logo that reflects the city of Mumbai and it's bird life. Hence, the present logo was created after a deep study about the city. The logo consists of a picture of a flying owl in the centre of a black coloured arch. In the language of colours, black colour is considered to be a symbol of stability and firmness while the nocturnal owl represents the ever-active and busy life of Mumbai and the arch symbolises the heritage buildings in the city. Owls are actually believed to be a bad omen. In Indian society, there are various misconceptions about the bird and the black magicians seem to take disadvantage of these beliefs. But in reality, the owl has evolved to adapt to the constant pressures of this evergrowing city. This predator/hunter preys chiefly on the city's rats in turn helping in keeping a check on the rat population. In mythological stories, the owl is referred to be the vehicle of Goddess Laxmi and a symbol of intelligence.
