A successful 25th Pakshi Mitra Sammelan- Mumbai

Hello all,

All birders from all over Maharashtra come together annually thru the Sammelans, to exchange their birding experiences.
The 25th Pakshi Mitra Sammelan held on 13, 14, 15 of Jan 2012 held at SGNP- Borivali, achieved a grand success. 
The Sammelan Venue was in the Choghale High school near SGNP main gate.
About 350 to 400 participants registered, out of which about 180 were from outside Mumbai region. Their staying arrangements was done inside the SGNP with support of Forest Authority of the Park.
Morning birding programmes for Sr citizens, school students, painting competition for children, were arranged.
First time All India level On-line Photographic competition was conducted successfully. There were about 370 entries. The renowned judges were from three different locations in India.
Prof. Ulhas Rane was the President of the Sammelan, he delivered his inaugural lecture in the opening ceremony on 13th Jan.
Second, & third day, the presentation sessions were conducted by Programme committee of Anand Pendharkar, Dr Raju Kasambe, Adesh Shivkar and team , Most of the presentations were informative with scientific background,
There was a innovative competition of 'name the bird by listening recorded bird-call, conducted by Sharad Apte, Raju Kasambe & Adesh.
